Where to Find the Altar of Gold
The Altar of Gold appears randomly during your runs rather than having a single fixed spawning spot. It can spawn on Stage 2 or any later stage, but it will never spawn on the very first stage. Visually, it resembles a standard Shrine of Chance, but it is covered in a distinct metallic gold finish.
Because its spawn rate is quite low, some playthroughs may not feature an Altar of Gold at all. Players searching for one should thoroughly scan wide environments from high vantage points. If you are playing as the Captain, you can even use a Hacking Beacon to activate the shrine for free once located.
How to Activate the Altar of Gold
To use the Altar of Gold, players must pay a significant amount of gold earned from defeating enemies. The exact currency required scales depending on the overall run difficulty and time elapsed. Once the fee is paid, a chat notification will announce that a gold orb has appeared.
After activating the shrine, you must head over to the stage teleporter and complete the teleporter event normally. Defeat the boss and fully charge the teleporter to finalize the sequence. Upon completion, a glowing Gold Portal will open adjacent to the teleporter, granting passage to the Gilded Coast.
Conquering the Gilded Coast Realm
Inside the Gilded Coast, players face a specialized boss fight against Aurelionite. Time is completely frozen while inside this hidden realm, meaning difficulty scaling will pause. To make the boss vulnerable to damage, you must locate and activate seven Halcyon Beacons scattered across the map.
Defeating Aurelionite rewards players with the Halcyon Seed item, which summons the powerful entity as an ally during future teleporter events. Visiting this area also provides four guaranteed item chests to further bolster your survivor's build. Managing your gold economy before entering ensures you can activate all seven beacons rapidly during the encounter.
